Music for All, the charity created by the musical instrument industry in the U.K., has announced that this year’s National Learn to Play Day, which offers free musical instrument lessons to the public, will happen March 31.
More than 60 music shops will participate, as will musicians including drummer Ian Paice of Deep Purple, Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich, and bassist Michael Devin. The program offers free lessons on a variety of instruments as well as information about local music teachers and instrument manufacturers. Music For All was founded to promote the benefits of music making, present the opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to do so, and aims to address the needs of communities, especially those whose members do not have ready access to music making.
