Braxton Schuffert, Guitarist with Hank Williams’ Driftin’ Cowboys, Passes

Braxton Schuffert, the other guitarist with Hank Williams in the original lineup of the Driftin’ Cowboys in the late 1930s, has died at the age of 97. Schuffert was a musical mentor to Williams, and continued to perform until shortly before his death. His unique Gibson HG-24 guitar (with an internal rim and four f-holes in addition to a round soundhole) is among the instruments on display at the Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, Alabama.
