1968 Gibson Barney Kessel Regular Electric Guitar

Location : Chicago

$ 2,500.00

I'm sad to see this great guitar go, I no longer have the room for it though. One the BEST set-up vintage guitars I have played. Excellent sound and feel. I replaced the switch tip- I have the original included and there is a high possibility it could be re-glued. Replacement volume knob, almost a match...

Original electronics and Gibson "PAF" Patent Number pickups and rings. The tuners may or may not be original- they seem too clean, but then again, the guitar is VERY clean. Cherry Burst has checking, inspect the pictures for more detail about the finish.

Gotoh tune-o-matic in place of the original included Gibson wooden compensated bridge. The guitar was also refretted with jumbo frets and set up by luthier Frankie Montuoro. Fantastic work done to it, it plays like a million bucks. Frankie builds Larson Bros. inspired acoustics these days (look him up).

The neck was slightly cracked in the usual place where the back of the neck meets the back of the headstock, and has a solid repair (see pics). This was prior to Frankies work otherwise it would be a near invisible repair. New TKL case. 516XXX serial number. Guitar was on Ebay. Decided to try other venues of sale.
