1969 Gibson J-200

One of 118 natural finish J-200’s made in 1969, this guitar is in excellent condition and completely original. Absent is the finish checking common on a guitar of this age. There are a couple of tiny surface marks on the top. The back is nice and flamey as is the neck. Housed in a non-original but period correct black hardshell case with yellow plush lining. The case is stenciled “Rockfish Railroad” a prominent country band of the seventies fronted by country artist Gary Stewart. Through this time during the seventies and into the eighties, Gary played with the group named Aberdeen Rockfish Railroad, or as Gary called them the Honky Tonk Liberation Army. This band included Bob Melton, who originally owned this guitar.
