1959 Gibson GA-20T Ranger 112 Tweed Combo Amp

This is an AMAZING little amp. Gibson amps in general from this period are way underrated. This is Exhibit A in the argument against the prevailing wisdom that vintage Gibson amps are somehow second rate to vintage Fenders of the period.

This example is almost completely original. It has been recently serviced. One 12AY7 tube has been changed with an NOS GE, power cord swapped for a 3-prong with ground, and it's been recapped. Other than that, it appears to be completely original. It is very clean. Other than a small cigarette burn on top, the tweed is in excellent shape. Tubes are 2x RCA 6V6GT, RCA 5Y3 Rectifier, RCA 12AX7A, RCA 6597, RCA 5879, GE 12AY7

You can also jumper the channels with a patch cable like you would a Marshall or Bassman to drive the amp into saturation... and saturate it does! The overdrive is sweet and singy with that classic tweed sponginess. It's no wonder people call the Ranger a poor man's Tweed Deluxe. Actually, that's an unfair comparison in my book because the GA20T is better, and the trem is a bonus that's to die for!
