Valco is the same company that made Supro, Gretsch, National, Oahu, and some Harmony amps from the late '30s thru 1968 when they were bought out. Some of their most prized productions are any of the amps they made in the 60s which feature 6973 power tubes. Why? Because most of the people who don't believe Jimmy Page's amp was a Supro Thunderbolt S6420, believe his amp was a Supro S6424. This amp is a very close circuit to the S6424 with added Reverb! The S6420 had a single 12" speaker instead of 210s, but those are pretty much the only two differences.

It's no wonder these are sought after - it has a tone that will peel lead paint from the walls. The crunch is unlike anything you will hear anywhere else. No other power tube breaks up quite the same way as these. Research the Valco 6973 amps to see what I mean.

This amp has been fully serviced - caps replaced, 3-prong added, trem and reverb circuits have been serviced. All tubes are original RCA. They include in the main amp section: 2x 6973 power tubes, a 6EU7, 5u4 rectifier, 3x 12ax7, and another 6973 in the reverb circuit. The speakers are Jenson Gold Label C10-R.

Other than the caps and power cord this amp is all original, no mods, and is SUPER CLEAN!
