1940 Gibson EH-125 Lap Steel

This is a pre-war 1940 sunburst Gibson lap steel guitar model EH-125. It has a single piece mahogany body which is triple bound on the top and single bound on the back. The overall length is 32”, the neck is 2 ¼” at the nut and the scale length is 22 ¾”. Various surface scratches and dings are visible throughout finish along with some weather checking. The fretboard is black painted metal with 29 frets and ten ornamental metal inlays. It has a single coil metal covered pickup. Other features include a five sided metal control plate, two bakelite knobs for tone and volume control and a pearloid fleur-de-lis headstock inlay with Gibson logo. The decomposing tuners and nut have been replaced; otherwise everything appears to be original.
