$ 5,500.00

1999 Fender Custom Shop Electric Spanish Telecaster Prototype guitar. This is number 4 of only 50 made that year. This instrument is a meticulous reproduction of the first protoype of what ultimately developed in the Telecaster. The fit and finish standards of the instrument are historically correct to the best of Fender's ability.

Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition - very clean!

Neck: Beefy, solid maple neck without an adjustable truss rod. Deluxe tuners have no metal bushings. The face & side marker dots are hand painted. The frets are in perfect condition with no wear. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length.

Body: The body wood is two pieces of pine, laminated top and back. The finish is nitro-cellulose lacquer and is applied in a very thin coat. This results in shrinkage which shows the wood grain. The bridge plate is a different size than a modern Tele & the pickup is at a different angle. The neck plate is also a different size than a more modern Tele. The intonation screws on the bridge have no springs. The control plate, knobs, bridge cover & input jack cup were all custom made to the original prototype specifications.
