1950's Harmony Monterey Acoustic Archtop Guitar
Condition: This is a great project for any luthier. There is some separation between the top, back and sides on the lower treble side bout. The top is warped at the bridge and tailpiece with some bellying. There are a few big scratches on the top finish (see photos). The neck will need a heat press and a possible re-set as it has a noticeable back bow. There is noticeable play wear on the fingerboard and frets with some cracks in the fingerboard and extremely light fingerboard separation. Lastly, there is a small crack in the base of the bridge. It is holding together though may need to be replaced eventually. The pickguard brace has been replaced, otherwise all parts are original.
Body: Double bound body with maple top, sides and back in original black finish. Top features a gold art deco stripe design, nickel trapeze tailpiece, two 'f' holes, single-ply black pickguard and a rosewood bridge. Lower bout is 3 3/8" deep and 15.5" wide. Upper bout is 3.5" deep and 11.5" wide.
Neck: Solid maple neck with dark maple fingerboard, gold block "inlays" and a 1 ¾" nut. Original 3-on-a-strip nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons in perfect working condition. 25" scale length.
