Hofner Verythin Standard electric guitar made in Germany. Celebrated for its flexibility and broad tonal palette, this Hofner semi-hollowbody can portray the subdued warmth of a full hollowbody, the bright and primary hues of a solidbody, or just about any shade of tone in between. It has a much smaller, thinner body profile than conventional semi-hollowbody guitars. In addition, the Verythin employs a hand-fitted solid spruce sustain block that does not use tone bars. These features reduce the potential for feedback and accentuate the tonal punch and attack while preserving the guitar's acoustic qualities. The current version of the Verythin Standard updates the original 1960 Hofner design with contemporary features: top-shelf humbucking pickups, Schaller tuners, and Schaller bridge and tailpiece. With its slender body crafted of highly flamed maple, it is a beauty to behold. Its design and special features liberate guitarists from the volume and style constraints of ordinary semi-hollowbody guitars.
