$ 12,000.00

For sale from my own collection of vintage guitars is a beautiful 1937 L-5 Gibson acoustic guitar, serial number 94219, which formerly belonged to Buddy Merrill of Lawrence Welk Show fame. Buddy, (my brother), purchased this guitar in around 1957-1958 in Los Angeles, CA. We believe this guitar was custom made for Dick Mc Donough, jazz guitarist of the 1930's, as the truss rod cover is engraved with his name, and is original to the guitar. In the late 1960's, Buddy added a seventh string to the guitar, for recording purposes, but when his band acoustic guitar was stolen, he had this L-5 converted back to 6 strings to be used on the Welk show. All work was professionally done. Check this link on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLmoMFey8D0 and watch Buddy playing this same guitar. If the link doesn't work, go to you tube, type in My Blue Heaven Buddy Merrill. Price for this beautiful and fine instrument w/ newer case is $12,000. O.B.O. Any questions, please email me at gloria.williams59@gmail.com and I will answer to the best of my ability. I am unable to add photos for some reason, so email me for the photos. Thanks!
