Ernie Ball will unveil a new line of electric bass and guitar strings made out of Cobalt. The company says Cobalt provides a stronger magnetic relationship between the pickups and strings, resulting in a string set that provides extended dynamic range, harmonic response, increased low-end, and crisp, clean highs. John Harrison, creator of the Tone Tubby hemp-cone speaker, died June 25. He was 59. Harrison opened in his California shop, A Brown Soun, in 1973, which became known for its speaker reconing and reconditioning. Dynamo Amplification’s M50X is a 50-watt single-channel high-gain amp with four 12AX7 preamp tubes, a pair of EL34 power tubes.
