Rudy Jaramillo’s “Pedalboard”

Rudy Jaramillo is quick to mention that his effects setup is very simple. “I go into my 1) Boss tuner, then to a 2) Boss Blues Driver that has been modded. I don”t know what was done, but it makes an amp sound more like itself, if you know what I mean. From there, the signal goes to my 3) Carl Martin Trem O Vibe, which is badass and gets real swampy and swirly. Next is a 4) VHT Echo verb; I used to use a tube reverb, but it got to be too much on the road, so I got the VHT and now I don’t have to lug around an extra head. Its delay has been very useful, as well.”

“I do not put my board on the floor in front of me – it stays back near the amp, and I make adjustments with my hand. I leave the overdrive on all the time unless I’m playing my Reverend P.A.1 hollowbody. Usually, though, I’m playing one of my other three Reverends – an Eastsider, a Sensei, and a Tricky Gomez.”
